Swallow Studies FEES

FEES stands for Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing and is performed by a trained speech-language pathologist. FEES uses an endoscope (a small flexible tube with a camera and light on the end) to objectively assess a person's ability to swallow.

Through our affiliates At Louisiana Voice & Swallow Solutions, we provide onsite, evidence-based diagnostic services to quickly and accurately identify swallowing or voice disorders.

The use of videostroboscopy to assess voice disorders is an evidence-based procedure that provides the speech-language pathologist with a slow-motion, magnified view of the vocal cords. It allows the speech-language pathologist to assess a number of vocal parameters and identify irregular motion and other conditions of the vocal folds.

Following the evaluation, a detailed report with high-definition images, recommendations, and a plan of care will be provided to the client and medical team.
